This is for all those who have or shall turn twenty five this year

LIFE at TWENTY FIVE
At twenty five, world is at your feet,
shining stars in your eyes
Every once in a while your heart skips a beat,
At twenty five, life is a song
You sail through like a breeze
Rather than walking a furlong
At twenty five, you still hold your dreams
Daydreaming is a way
You want to reach the top, by any means
At twenty five, moods go high and fizzle
Just now you were so angry
Just now you blow a whistle
At twenty five, you want a man, with some pride
Tall, dark and handsome
Yet without realizing, simply flip over a smile
At twenty five, in continents, far and wide
You search for someone special
Who would take you for a bride!
At twenty five, a mother is taking shape
Wed, unwed, or in the process
A child in you is curled, ready to escape
At twenty five, the globe is an oyster
Keeping you inside its boozam
Precious like a pearl
At twenty five, caring, sharing and warm
live life fully and bloom
gathering the sky within your arms
Oh no! Not cynical. I think its a case of lost in translation. The original thought came to me in my mother tongue marathi...but i will write it in hindi..." duniya hamre kadmon mein magar hamare pair aasmaan main tair (float) rahe hai.." hope I got it right this time

yes thats what I would suggest too... now a days girls marry late...I mean mostly..they still enjoy their freedom.
the thing is to remember how you felt when you were young and carefree...that feeling should never leave you... no matter how old you get.
and one more thing...earlier you marry earlier you become free of responsibilities...so...enjoy that phase too.

Madhvi,
Beautiful poem and photos. What a beautiful tribute to Sulekha's own birthday girl!
Couldn't help looking back to my own 25th birthday. It was not quite the same.
At twenty five, I was a mother of two,
Younger one not quite one.
At twenty five it was all diapers and feeding schedules,
Who had the time to dream when sleep was what I craved the most!
So my advice to all the single gals and guys celebrating their 25th birthday is: enjoy your freedom while it lasts and go out and paint the town red....for tomorrow is another day!

It is just that at twenty five you don't care about what people say because you are young and now because you have seen so much you think its nor worth it... that is liberation...ditto for me too... I do what i feel like doing.....and its fun
i wrote abt 25 because i feel as old as 25, never mind how old I am!
have a nice day

Dr. Madhvi,
You're right, 25 was good and so full of life and dreams. But then, 47 is pretty good too - I enjoyed getting here through all of those years and tomorrow looks to be fantastic.
