What brings success in life…Merit or Networking?

Success is only a perception; perceived in your own eyes or that of the society.

If success means fame, name and riches then by all means you have to combine your talent with networking. Though I must say all this can give you initial push but for the long lasting results you must depend on your talents and inner strength.

 If success means self improvement even then you need to interact with people to know your deficiencies and work upon them.

If success means living your life the way you want; still you need to resolve conflicts with your immediate family and close society because there will always be people telling you how to live your life.

Success never comes easy; it is never free, there are always strings attached. You must pay some price to achieve it.

The definition of success changes with age/ time; so do 

 the stretegies to acheive it.

 

 We may wonder why some meritorious people do not succeed in life? I suppose they lack motivation, desire or right direction in their life besides they don’t make consistent effort and give up easily. Persistence and perseverance is the basic quality behind successful people.

There is a point called threshold point and we all need to make consistent effort to reach there and maintain ourselves above that level. Take for example water;

 To boil successfully, it must reach 100*centigrade or to freeze it must reach 0* centigrade. The threshold of 100* and 0* must be achieved for the water to convert into another state. It must burn over heat or accept freezing cold to be in those desired states.

What about luck? Luck or destiny is nothing but being at the right time, at the right place, within right circumstances for rightful purpose. Only then destiny smiles at you.

I also believe that there are people born before time, before their brilliant idea is taken or accepted by people. They may fail to make an impact in their own lifetime despite being genius at their work. Initially when Galileo said the sun is at the centre of the solar system (heliocentrism), he was met with great resistance from clergy. Eventually it was accepted and science opened up to new ideas.

If you want to showcase your success, networking is required. For a businessman who needs to sell his products, he needs to make people aware of his goods. Networking for him is an essential part of his strategy for success.

Lets not forget that consistent and worthy efforts are sooner or later rewarded.

Finally success is not a destination, it is a continuous journey and depends on your outlook whether you achieve it on total merit or with added extra networking; it hardly matters as long as the path is taken up with clear conscience. At the end of the day you should be at peace with yourself.
